Donegal retakes its proper place on the map of contemporary Ireland. Cut off from the rest of the Republic, and ignored by Dublin, the county has long lived with a sense of : Patrick Loughrey. Donegal is bounded on the west and north by the Atlantic Ocean, on the east by Lough (lake) Foyle and Northern Ireland, and on the south by Northern Ireland and the Irish county of rugged coast is heavily indented in the north, major inlets being Lough Swilly and Lough Foyle, between which is the Inishowen chief rivers are the Finn and Erne.

The oldest rocks are metamorphic and are found in areas such as Malin Head in Co. Donegal. They originally formed as igneous rocks million years ago. Other old metamorphic rocks include the slates that have given rise to the slate quarry at Valentia Island, Co. Kerry, and the quartzites that are found in Counties Donegal and Wicklow. We recently stayed in the above house and I'd have to say that it was the dirtiest, most worn and dulistl holiday house that we ever stayed in. KEEP CLEAR of this dirty house.
